ジョージ6世(コリンフォース)は極度の上がり症。人前で話をする時どもってしまうのね。だから、ジョージの話はいつもチンプンカンプン。ところが、ジョージの兄貴が、人妻との愛に走って退位、ジョージが王位を継ぐことになっちゃったのよ。慌てたエリザベス王妃(ヘレナ・ボナム=カーター)は、亭主のどもりを直したくて、ローグ(ジェフリー・ラッシュ)にスピーチ矯正を依頼するの。ローグは変わった人なんだけど、ジョージと相性が合ったみたい。第二次世界大戦でイギリスがドイツに宣戦布告した年には、ジョージは、完璧な演説で国民をとりこにするの。わたし、王様が上手に話せた時には、気持ちが高ぶって泣けてきたわ。（マリリンの映画一口コメントhttps://www.facebook.com/maririn.cinemaより）

In a hurry, Queen Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter) asks Rogue (Geoffrey Rush) to correct her speech in order to fix her stuttering. Rogue is a strange person, but he seems to have gotten along with George. In the year Britain declared war on Germany in World War II, George captivated the people with a perfect speech. When the King spoke well, I was so excited that he cried.
