ＣＣの母親のリオナ（レイニー・カザン）が、CCに告げた「大好きな娘よ。嘘じゃないわ。心から愛している。だけど、もうかまってやれない。わかるでしょ。その余力がない。私がお前なら、無関心な相手でも手は離さない。どのみち、最後は一人きりよ。分かるかしら。」がなぜか心に残った。

An emotional story about the friendship and farewell of two 11-year-old girls over 30 years. Starring CC Bloom (Bette Midler) and Hillary Whitney (Margaret Jennings South). Beginning with correspondence, at the turning point of life, living together, jealousy, fighting, and then experiencing periods of estrangement, but deep in the heart of friendship, and finally following Hillary's will, CC will raise Hillary's only daughter.
CC's mother, Riona (Lainie Kazan), told CC, "My favorite daughter. I'm not lying. I love you from the bottom of my heart. For some reason, I remembered, "You can't let go of an indifferent person. Anyway, you're alone at the end. Do you understand?"
