上野動物園の双子パンダ、今日で1歳！ Twin pandas at Ueno Zoo, 1 year old today!
今日は、上野動物園の双子パンダ、シャオシャオ、レイレイの誕生日。生まれた時には、120グラムほどだった双子も１歳を迎え、27キロを超えた。27キロというと人間では8歳の平均体重だ。一般的に、パンダは、永久歯が生えそろうと笹を食べ始め、生後8、9ヶ月で離乳。生後18ヶ月頃には、親離れをすると言われているが、シャオシャオ、レイレイは、まだ、離乳していないようだ。シャオシャオとレイレイは、双子であっても、性格は違うようで、シャオシャオは喜怒哀楽がはっきりしていて少々繊細。レイレイは要領良く行動し、マイペースな性格であるそうだ。動物園の飼育員の話だと、「シャオシャオは、シンシンが食事中であっても乳をせがみシンシンから邪険にされることが多い。レイレイはシンシンの寝こみを見計らって乳を求めるため、乳を飲む頻度が高い」とのことである。
アドベンチャーワールドの末っ子パンダのフウヒンは、1歳4ケ月で、独り立ちしている。シンシン、シャオシャオ、レイレイが一緒であるところをみれるのも、あと半年ぐらいなのであろうか。

I wonder if it will be about half a year before I can see Shinshin, Xiao Xiao, and Ray Ray together.
Keisei Electric Railway (Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture) will release a commemorative ticket for twin pandas from today to August 31st. The commemorative ticket is a set of two "Shitamachi weather tickets" that allow you to get on and off the Keisei Line Tokyo area for one day and receive special benefits at cultural facilities and restaurants, and some are 1020 yen. Trains with a commemorative head mark will also operate during the sales period. Isn't one piece wasted if you are alone?
